Installing Progressive Web Apps (PWAs)

A Progressive Web App (PWA) combines the best of websites and native applications. For XMPT platform users, PWAs provide a seamless mobile experience without requiring traditional software installation. You'll get native app-like features including offline access and automatic updates, while saving valuable storage space since PWAs are significantly smaller than traditional applications. PWAs also ensure you're always using the latest version automatically.

iOS Installation

Safari on iOS

  1. Navigate to https://xmpt.us
  2. Click the Share button (square with arrow) at the bottom of Safari
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
  4. Enter your preferred name for the app
  5. Tap "Add" in the top-right corner
  6. The PWA will appear on your home screen like a native app

Note: Safari is the only browser that supports PWA installation on iOS. Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on iOS use Safari's WebKit engine and cannot install PWAs directly.

Android Installation

Chrome on Android

  1. Navigate to https://xmpt.us
  2. Click the three dots menu (⋮) in the top-right corner
  3. Select "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"
  4. Review the app info and permissions
  5. Tap "Install"
  6. The PWA will appear in your app drawer and home screen

Edge on Android

  1. Navigate to https://xmpt.us
  2. Tap the three dots menu (…) in the bottom navigation
  3. Select "Add to Home screen" or "Install app"
  4. Review the installation prompt
  5. Tap "Add" or "Install"
  6. Find the PWA in your app drawer or home screen

Samsung Internet

  1. Navigate to https://xmpt.us
  2. Tap the three dots menu (⋮)
  3. Select "Add page to" from the menu
  4. Tap "Home screen"
  5. Review the app name
  6. Tap "Add" to complete installation

Note: For the best experience on Android, we recommend using Chrome or Edge browser for PWA installation, as they provide the most complete PWA functionality.
